Chaser

Texas 2-STEP is a nanosatellite being developed by students at The University of Texas at Austin for the University NanoSat 5 competition. This is UT Austin's third entry in the University NanoSat competition.

Texas 2-STEP's mission is designed to demonstrate UT Austin's expertise in navigation and guidance through a rendezvous and on-orbit inspection mission. In addition it will display our rapid-response capability through the use of modular design.

Texas 2-STEP consists of two satellites - a larger chaser satellite and a smaller target. The two satellites will separate on orbit and be allowed to drift several kilometers apart, at which point the chaser will begin rendezvous operations and return to within tens of meters of the smaller satellite.
